Phulkari Embroidery
In its present form, Phulkari embroidery has been popular since the 15th century in the Punjab region.
In Phulkari embroidery art motifs of birds, flowers and human figures are stitched on a colorful cloth using darning needles. The design is done from the reverse side on the cloth in a vertical and horizontal pattern. Satin and silk is also used for extra effect.
